# Approval and human safety

> Questions for Vital Force Peptides — Vital Force Peptides answers questions about MOTS-c side effects, AOD-9604 efficacy, retatrutide approval and why no human injection or mixing routine is given.

**Questions**

The questions get practical quickly. Some have a clear answer; others reach gaps that the mouse work cannot fill.

## Does MOTS-c improve human strength?

Extra MOTS-c improved [running, grip strength and gait in mice](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33473109/). A separate [mouse and laboratory study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39559755/) identified CK2 as a direct target and reduced muscle wasting during immobilisation. Human treatment trials here have not established a strength benefit. A functional test in people has to precede a convincing human performance claim for the molecule.

## MOTS-c adverse effects

The absence of completed human treatment trials leaves the adverse-effect profile unresolved. The [dialysis study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39111290/) measured naturally present MOTS-c; nobody received extra. It therefore cannot provide a side-effect list for taking it. Human absorption, clearance and effects at different amounts also remain unvalidated.

MOTS-c lacks FDA approval for human use, and elite sport restricts it. A research label offers no assurance about identity, strength, impurities or sterility.

## Has a human MOTS-c injection routine been established?

No validated human routine emerges from the studies discussed here. Animal regimens describe experimental methods, and the human observational studies concern blood measurements. Turning those into a human schedule would require information the evidence lacks. This site provides no injection or dose instructions.

## Does AOD-9604 actually work for weight loss?

Human obesity trials failed to establish a statistically significant weight benefit over placebo. Obese mice did show [increased fat oxidation and weight loss](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11673763/), which explains the original interest. The [human tolerability programme](https://www.jofem.org/index.php/jofem/article/view/157/194) reported side effects similar to placebo across about 900 participants in roughly six studies. Tolerability and efficacy are separate outcomes.

The rabbit [cartilage study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26275694/) concerned experimentally induced osteoarthritis, with lower damage scores over 4 to 7 weeks. Human joint-repair benefit remains unproved. AOD-9604 lacks FDA approval and is prohibited in sport as a growth-hormone fragment.

## How does retatrutide work?

It acts at receptors for GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon. The [structural and cell experiments](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11255275/) confirm engagement of those three targets. The combination affects appetite, glucose-dependent insulin release and fuel handling. I think the human trials earn more attention than the elegance of the design: they measured weight, blood glucose, liver fat and adverse events.

## Is retatrutide FDA approved?

Retatrutide lacks FDA approval and remains investigational, with phase 3 testing underway. The [phase 2 obesity result](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37366315/) was -24.2% mean body-weight change at the highest amount over 48 weeks, versus -2.1% with placebo. Gastrointestinal effects and a dose-dependent heart-rate rise accompanied the weight findings. Longer-term safety and outcomes after treatment remain unsettled.

## Why are there no mixing instructions?

The clinical trials used controlled investigational material and medical supervision. An outside preparation has unconfirmed contents, strength, impurities and sterility. A published trial cannot resolve those uncertainties for a particular bottle. I cannot inspect somebody’s material, assess their medical situation or establish a safe way to use an unknown preparation.
